For co-founders Shivangi Joshi and A.J. Joseph, the journey to create XLThreads began with a shared realization and vision: plus-size fashion lacked the style, variety, and confidence it truly deserved.
As a plus-size woman, Shivangi often found shopping for fashionable clothing frustrating. Trend-driven, expressive styles that reflected her personality were hard to come by. While building a successful 20-year career in the insurance industry, she felt an increasing desire to pursue something more personal—something that spoke to her own experiences and could inspire others.
Her longtime friend A.J. shared that vision. Together, they transformed the challenge into a bold mission: to design clothing that empowers plus-size individuals to feel stylish, confident, and celebrated.
With that shared purpose, XLThreads was born.
In 2025 Sonali Sinhal, a close friend of Shivangi also, joined the brand—drawn by its purpose and momentum.
Together, we are building more than a clothing line. We are creating a movement—one that champions curves, confidence, and uncompromising style.
